1994 Membership started with 47, Gained 3, lost 4, ended year with 46. Theme for the Year "Be a Friend" The President for this Rotary year was Edwin Robertson. Overall the Club had a successful year in its achievements. Our activities included Drug Awareness something that was a District concern. Annual dance attended by 90 guests. International evening organised by convener John Givens, the venue being the Civic Centre. Big Band Night” held in Claremont High school raised £500 for Rotary Foundation and £ 500 Erskine Home. £360 given to Strathclyde police for the purchase of a Drugs display case that would be used when visiting schools. Sportsman's Dinner 25th Nov. 1994 raised over £2000.00 for local charitiesTak Tent were given£100, Womans Aid £150, Fablevision £200, EK Hospice £2300, Belmont Home £250, Crossroads £300, McMillan Fund £250, Scottish Refuge £50, Scottish Wildlife £50. This was the inaugural Sportsman's Dinner run by East Kilbride & Kittoch Rotary Clubs. District Conference at Aviemore President Edwin Robertson had 18 in the party attending the Annual District Conference. Engineering Training Centre “Apprentice of the year” John Dempsey of Weir pumps awarded £100 from Club. East Kilbride Red Cross were desparately in need of a child's wheel chair the Club procured this on their behalf.
