1997 Membership started with 43, Gained 4, Lost 2, ended year with 45. Theme for the Year “Show Rotary Cares” President Barclay Wales took the highest number of East Kilbride Rotarians on our twinning link visit to Ballerup. Barclay also acknowledged the large turnout at Council meetings. Barry Wood's participation in the Monte Carlo Rally resulted in the Club raising £5000. Rotary Football Competition for People with learning difficulties organised by Rotarian Andrew Ferguson.

Joint venture with our daughter club in running a Sportsman’s Dinner raised £3200 for the Parkinson's Association. President Barclay Wales presented Past President and Paul Harris Fellow Andrew Gold with a well earned “Four Avenues of Service” award.

Under the Leadership of President Barclay Wales the Club once again managed to attain the prestigious Presidential Citation for the the work they had done during his year in office.

1999 Membership started with 45, Gained 1,Lost 1, ended year with 45. Theme for the Year Follow your Rotary Dream. President Iain Wiseman was aware of the Rotary Foundation needs for money to proliferate their good acts and to that end wished to raise more cash per head. The Following Charities all received help Enable, News tape, McMillan Nurses, Erskine Home, Unicef and the Princes Trust. Dorothy Borland ( Non Rotarian) and David Mackay Club Rotarian were  nominated by Club for a Community Award  Dorothy Borland became the overall winner. 18 charities received monies from the club this year totalling £7,509

Schools participated in this years Burns Competition. J Lacey President of RI awarded the Club the Significant Achievment Award for the work being done by the Club. Presidential Citation also Awarded. A national football tournament was organised for adults with adults with learning difficulties.  Our club took this on board and with the expertise of Club convener Andrew Ferguson we ran a successful tournament. The demise of Rotarian, Past President & Paul Harris Fellow, Eric Barr occured this year he served our Club & Rotary for 27 years & 2 months Rotary service January 1968- March 1999.
